FOOD AND COOKING SAFETY Avoid cross contamination To prevent any cross contamination, keep cooked and raw food separate, including all plates and utensil. Ensure all food is thoroughly defrosted before placing on the BBQ. Keep control Make sure that you pay attention at all times to the fire and the food you are cooking - and never desert your post! Food will cook best over glowing embers, so have a spray bottle of water handy to extinguish any flames as they may appear. Know your tools Use the right utensils. Long-handled tools and long BBQ mitts protect you from the heat. WARNING CARBON MONOXIDE HAZARD Burning charcoal inside can kill you. It gives off carbon monoxide, which has no odour. NEVER burn charcoal inside homes, vehicles or tents. SAFETY TIPS 1 WARNING! This product emits carbon monoxide which has no odour. NEVER burn charcoal indoors or in confined spaces. Use only in well ventilated areas. 2 Do not use lighter fluid or other flammable liquids or solids on the BBQ. 3 Keep out of reach of children and pets. 4 Never leave the BBQ unattended. 5 Never touch, attempt to lift or move the BBQ once lit.

Preparation & Usage
Keep it clean Clean your BBQ before and after use (especially if it is kept outside). Heat the BBQ up prior to cooking to burn away any excess grease. Don't rush in Light the BBQ well in advance, and wait until the charcoal is glowing red with a powdery grey surface before you start to cook (usually 20 minutes). The food will stick when you first place it on the BBQ, however it will become looser when the food has begun to cook - so give it a couple of minutes before trying to move it. Make the most of your BBQ Cover the BBQ if you are looking to recreate the effect of a conventional oven, e.g. to cook a whole chicken or large joints of meat. Every time you lift the lid, add extra cooking time! Your BBQ can be used for more things than just a BBQ! It is a source of heat just like any other cooker - why not use saucepans, frying pans and even a wok on top of the BBQ. Cooking Tips Use additional flavours Make the most of marinades or add herbs/woodchips to coals to add natural flavours. Try wetting sprigs or rosemary to add subtle flavour to lamb or sprigs of bay leaves for pork. You'll get better results from marinades if you marinate overnight in a refrigerator. Give it a rest Always cover the meat in tin foil and allow to rest for a few minutes after cooking to get the juiciest results. We suggest using a thermometer to check that it is cooked. Don't forget the vegetables A BBQ works wonders with vegetables, including corn on the cobs, peppers, courgettes and many more. To cook corn on the cobs, boil in water for 5-10mins, and place on the BBQ for that delicious smoky flavour. For vegetables, cut them in thin slices and BBQ them until charred, add salt & pepper for extra flavour. Now it's time to enjoy! Zip BBQ Tips One of the key factors when barbecuing is to stay safe and keep others around you safe. Our BBQ tips will not only provide a safe surrounding but also give you top tips when preparing your BBQ. BBQ's need to be positioned on a solid, flat surface, away from fences and wooden sheds and also protected from the wind or a draught. Allow plenty of space around the BBQ and avoid placing too near shrubs and other plants which could be damaged by the heat. Usage Instructions: 1. Open all vents in the BBQ. 2. Place the bag centrally on the bottom charcoal grate/pan. 3. Light the bag. 4. Once the flames have died down and the charcoal has ashed over (approx. 20 minutes depending on outdoor wind conditions), spread the charcoal as desired. 5. The BBQ is now ready to cook.
