Preparation & Usage
Cooking Instructions All appliances vary, the following are guidelines only. Refer to the manufacturer's handbook and adjust cooking times accordingly. Remove outer packaging. Remove soak pad from underside of the turkey. Wash hands, all surfaces and utensils after touching raw poultry. No need to wash poultry before cooking. Estimated cooking time for this turkey is indicated on the price weight label on the front of the bag. To Oven Roast: Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas mark 4/Fan assisted oven 170°C. Remove giblets from the neck flap area and the neck from the main body cavity. If stuffing is to be used, stuff the neck flap only and allow extra time for cooking. Place the turkey in a roasting tin and cover loosely with foil. Cook in a preheated oven for 45 minutes per kg plus an extra 20-30 minutes, basting frequently. Remove the foil for the last 30 minutes of cooking. The turkey is fully cooked if the juices run clear when the deepest part of the turkey is pierced with a thin skewer or sharp knife. If the juices are pink continue cooking until they are clear, checking every 15 minutes. Allow the turkey to stand for 15 minutes before carving. Ensure product is piping hot throughout before serving.
Storage Guidelines
Keep refrigerated at 0°Co +5°C. Suitable for home freezing. If freezing, freeze on day of purchase. Consume within 1 month of freezing. Defrost thoroughly in the fridge before cooking and use within 24 hours of defrosting. Do not refreeze once defrosted. Do not reheat once cooled. Not suitable for microwave cooking. Not suitable for cooking from frozen.
