- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 grated carrot
- 1 red pepper, diced
- Salt, pepper, dried oregano or basil to season
For serving:
- SuperValu Spaghetti Whole Wheat (or regular pasta)
- Optional: grated cheese or Parmesan
Method
- Sauté the aromatics:
- Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add garlic and onion, and sauté for 4–5 minutes until softened.
- Brown the meat:
- Add the mince meat and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Add vegetables and sauce:
- Stir in grated carrot, diced red pepper, and SuperValu Pasta Sauce.
- Simmer gently for 10 minutes.
- Cook the pasta:
- Boil pasta according to packet instructions (usually 12 minutes).
- Drain and set aside.
- Combine and serve:
- Mix pasta with the meat sauce and serve hot.
- Alternatively, serve pasta and sauce separately.
- Optional: top with grated cheese or Parmesan.

- This recipe is perfect for batch cooking, double the quantities and freeze portions for later!
