"Years ago, when I was just starting out as a winemaker, it was almost unheard of to get French oak wine barrels and American oak barrels were for whiskey, not wine. But we still needed barrels to age our wine, so we purchased new and used bourbon barrels. Today, American and French oak wine barrels are commonplace, so the inspiration for 1000 Stories is a nod to the way things were. We've selected new and used bourbon barrels for these small batches of Zinfandel, which impart characteristics specific to these barrels: charred vanilla, dried herbs and a hint of caramel." A distinctive blend of our finest sherries from palomino grapes, aged in old oak casks. Old gold in colour. The bouquet is a pleasant mix of nuts and "Flor" with slightly woody touch. It is smooth, rounded and full on the palate.

Maison André Goichot, founded in 1947, has always been reknown for their selection of Burgundy wines. These wines, mainly from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, show all the characteristics of wines from the Burgundy region.

In northern Burgundy, near Auxerre, there is a vineyard of around 100 ha planted with Sauvignon grapes. Saint-Bris is the only appellation in Burgundy with this grape variety, which produces an aromatic wine with notes of grapefruit and citrus, and flinty notes on the palate. A perfect match for fish and shellfish, as well as fresh cheeses.

A Chardonnay straw in colour with green lights; it features aromas of sweet fruits such as pears, melon and cucumber, that after a while are also felt in mouth. It's a medium-bodied wine with a wonderfully long finish. Best served as an aperitif or with salad, pasta, seafood or chicken dishes. Ideal temperature: 9 - 13°C

This Sauvignon Blanc has a straw yellow colour; it presents aromas of ripened citric fruit and herbs. In the mouth its body and freshness stand out. Although it is a dry wine, it gives a sweet feeling in mouth. Ideal temperature: 9 - 13°C

Aresti Mystique Mystery One Reserva Red Blend (75 cl), €10.00

Vinification The grapes in this Red Blend were carefully harvested and vinified. Fermentation took place under controlled temperature conditions between 25 and 27°C to preserve the freshness, smoothness and intensity of aromas. Following fermentation, 50% of the blend was aged in third fill or older French and American oak barrels for six months and the remainder was aged in stainless steel vats to preserve its fruity aromas.

Aresti Mystique Mystery Two Reserva Carignan (75 cl), €10.00

Vinification The grapes were harvested in late March, crushed, and fermented at 26°C for 7 days, with a total of 12 days of skin contact. Afterward, the grapes were pressed. Malolactic fermentation took place in French and American oak barrels, where they continue to evolve and gain complexity during a 12-month aging period. Tasting Notes Intensely ruby red Carignan, offering complex notes of black fruits, earthy nuances, and delicate floral hints. Full-bodied with firm tannins, it boasts a long, persistent finish with echoes of chocolate and coffee.

To the eye, this Bourgogne Pinot Noir is richly coloured in its youth, then, with the age, shading towards dark ruby. To the nose it offers at first a basket of small red and black fruits (strawberry, cherry, blackcurrant, bilberry) later evolving into cooked prune and peppery notes. It is lively and structured in the mouth with a well-rounded and supple backbone.
