Sometimes you come across something special that leaves an impact. The gnarly old bush vines that bear the precious fruit that go to make this delicious wine were planted up to 100 years ago in the mountain vineyards of Atea. Struggling to survive in dusty, dry slate soils at an altitude of 1000 metres they have the ability to produce this amazing wine: deep blue-purple colour. Lifted perfumed aromas of flowers and fresh blueberry. Lush blackberry and cherry flavours cram the mid palate with an underlying spicy pepperiness. Weighty without being overbearing it delivers a punch of juiciness that will leave your palate stunned!

Il Capolavoro Appassimento (75 cl), €10.00

Il Capolavoro is created with Italian love, carefully selected to be enjoyed with food and friends. Appassimento wines are created by doing a natural partial dehydration of the grapes, in order to produce a greater concentration of colours, aromas and flavours. This wine has an intense, deep ruby red color with a very fruity, rich, spicy and black pepper nose. The taste is also full of body, very intense and spicy, yet smooth and full of flavours.

Nugan Estate Stomper's Cabernet Sauvignon (75 cl), €9.00

Our cabernet vineyard requires more work than the shiraz and it's become a favorite for the birds as the bunches ripen. Stomper has his hands full indeed. We work hard to stress the soils and slow down the ripening of the cab because it helps achieve the flavors we like so much. Daren Owers, our winemaker, reckons our cabernet is the best in the region and praises Stomper for the work he does in the vineyard. Our fruit is destemmed and pressed before going through a lengthy cold soaking. After fermentation, we macerate on the skins for about 10 days to extract soft tannins and deep, rich flavors. There's never any short cuts on the barrel program and this wine sees only French oak, of which 25% is new. Since there are several different parcels on the vineyard and they're kept separate throughout the entire process, putting the final blend together takes several days and is a major team effort. Were really proud of this and hope you like it. PS - this wine was sustainably farmed and produced in an effort to reduce our carbon footprint.

The name Trivento comes from three winds; Polar, Zonda and Sudestada. It is these winds that make Mendoza such a distinctive and successful wine growing region. Aglianico is a black grape grown in the southern regions of Italy, mostly Basilicata and Campania. It produces a full-bodied wine with firm tannins and high-acidity giving it good aging potential. This Aglianico is a dark, deep ruby red with enjoyable cherry and red berries fragrance followed by a marked vanilla and spicy note. A soft, pleasant mouth feel with nuances of cherry, plum and spice. Pairs beautifully with all roasted red meats and aged cheeses.
