Preparation & Usage

For baking: If you're short of eggs while making a cake, mix 1/2 teaspoon of bread soda with one dessert spoon of vinegar and add last of all to the batter. This substitutes for 2 eggs. If sour milk is needed add 1/2 teaspoon of bread soda to 150ml fresh milk. This also substitutes for buttermilk. For household cleaning: Apply to a damp cloth, wipe and rinse: sinks, worktops, ovens, pots and pans, refrigerators, chopping boards, tea pots, tiles, baths etc. First aid: To soothe heat spots, nettle rash and chicken pox apply a paste of bread soda and water, bee stings, insect bites, burns sunburn, even a black eye will be soothed with a paste of bread soda and water. For sport: To help neutralise lactic acid and soothe aching muscles use 250g of Gem Bread Soda added to a hot bath. For cleaning around your Baby: Apply to a damp cloth, wipe and rinse toys, high chairs, bath, changing tables, car seats. For personal care: For a refreshing bath or foot soak add 1/2 a cup into a tub of warm water to soothe tired skin. For household deodorizing: Sprinkle straight from tub: bins, carpets, dishwasher (between loads), refrigerator (put on saucer)
