Eden Lodge Cabernet Sauvignon (75 cl), €8.59

The wine region of Stellenbosch is situated 50km east of Capetown. It is home to the historic town of Stellenbosch (which dates back to 1679) and the world famous University of Stellenbosch. This region is the second oldest wine region in South Africa and is set in the heart of the Cape Winelands. A warm and dry growing season and a variety of soils results in the production of high-quality wines, mostly reds. Cabernet Sauvignon performs exceptionally well here. Our Eden Lodge Cabernet Sauvignon is vibrant dark purple/ruby in colour with a rich ripe berry nose. Flavours of autumnal fruits follow along with hints of dark chocolate and spicy tones. Enjoy this beautiful Stellenbosch Cabernet on its own or with meat, game and tomato based pasta dishes.

Paarl is renowned for its scenic beauty, viticulture and fruit growing. Situated 60km north east of Capetown, it is an extremely important wine region in South Africa. Paarl enjoys a warm climate with a Mediterranean influence and has a mix of sandy, granite and shale soils. These factors coupled with the aspect of the Simonsberg Mountain provide great growing conditions for the Shiraz grape. This results in wines of great individuality and character. Our Eden Lodge Paarl Shiraz is full and powerful packed with rich blackberry flavours along with spice, plum and eucalyptus. A wonderful acompliment to hearty beef dishes.

Located 250km north of Capetown this wine region represents the Cape's highest and most westerly vineyards. Orange groves line the riverbank alongside fields of Rooibos tea bushes. The red sand and alluvial soil along with cooling Atlantic breezes provide excellent growing conditions for the Sauvignon Blanc grape. With the assistance of modern technology in state of the art wineries, the Olifants River Valley is now emerging as a very good Sauvignon Blanc producing region of South Africa. The Eden Lodge Sauvignon Blanc is a lively, crisp, fruit driven wine with crunchy apple, guava, herbaceous hints and a flavoursome finish. Enjoy on its own or with chicken, fish or goats cheese dishes.

The fourth vintage of this wildly popular premium Rosé comes from South Provence and has been crafted in partnership with a family estate, Sarah Jessica Parker and Invivo. Sarah Jessica Parker is involved in the blending of the new vintage each year, as she represents the taste of consumers and what they are looking for in their glass. Together, SJP and Invivo co-founders (Tim and Rob), have created this beautifully pale, dry, and fruitful rosé, created to be enjoyed by those with the same taste as Sarah Jessica.

Kaara Cabernet Sauvignon (75 cl), €7.50

A beautiful cabernet sauvignon in the classic style. The nose has fruit aromas with some notes of cassis and spices. On the palate, firm ripe tannins give structure and power to a full weight of blackcurrant fruit laced with liquorice and mint. Drink at room temperature, ideal with powerful roasts, casseroles and strong cheeses.

Lagarada Tawny is a blend of young, full-bodied and characterful Ports. The wine shows some rich, full-bodied flavours of red fruit, such as plums and raspberry.

Nugan Estate Scruffy's Shiraz (75 cl), €12.99

Scruffy works hard to keep our Shiraz bunches tight and our berries small and yields very low at around 4 tons per acre, which annoys our accountant. Daren Owers, our winemaker, insists on bunch sorting at harvest to make sure we only use the very best clusters. Most of the fruit is destemmed and pressed while a small portion is whole berry fermented. All parcels are kept separate during the winemaking process in our state of the art winery. We use a lot of smaller tanks as a result which is difficult, but necessary for the production of a quality wine. Pump overs and extended maceration times give us color and richness. We work with the best coopers and use a combination of French and American oak to mature this wine - 25% of which is new. Bench blending takes forever - there are so many variables and we return the final cuvee to tank for several months to come together before bottling. It's a lot of work and we really hope you enjoy the result. PS - This wine was sustainably farmed and produced in an effort to reduce our carbon footprint.

In the course of the 4th Century AD, the emergence of the vineyard was intrinsically connected to the founding of the monastry of Marmoutier in 372 AD by Saint Martin. The vineyard grew and acquired its repute through its dedication to white wines. Foucher Lebrun has selected for your enjoyment this 100% Chenin semi-sweet vouvray, with aromas of pear and apricot. It's natural acidity confers it freshness and a perfectly balanced palate. It will be a perfect companion for poultry and desserts. We suggest serving it at 8 to 10°C and wish you a most enjoyable tasting.

Bourgogne Pinot Noir Naudin Tiercin (75 cl), €22.00

To the eye, this Bourgogne Pinot Noir is richly coloured in its youth, then, with the age, shading towards dark ruby. To the nose it offers at first a basket of small red and black fruits (strawberry, cherry, blackcurrant, bilberry) later evolving into cooked prune and peppery notes. It is lively and structured in the mouth with a well-rounded and supple backbone.

Grapes sourced from selected, south facing vineyards, this wine was produced using 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc. This full bodied elegant red with soft tannins is deep ruby in colour and has aromas of red fruit and spices. Delicious with duck, roasted and grilled meat dishes.

Cotes Du Rhone Andre Goichot (75 cl), €11.99

Location and terroir Over 200 km, between Vienne and Avignon, the Rhone Valley has the largest regional appellation after Bordeaux, it is also one of the oldest controlled designations of origin. It extends over 163 municipalities divided between six departments (Rhône, Loire, Drôme, Ardèche, Gard and Vaucluse). Our Côtes du Rhône is made with Young vines (less than 20 years old) located in the Vacqueyras appellation area from Stony soil composed of blue marls. Vinification/Aging The grapes are destemmed and vinified in stainless-steel vats for about 10 month revealing all the freshness and subtlety of his aromas. Grapes are: 55% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre and 35% Syrah. Tasting The robe is clear, ruby, and bright with darker colour reflect due to the Syrah. On the nose reminiscent of small red fruits, with animal or spicy notes or aromas of ripe fruit. It has well-structured but supple tannins. One of our favourite wines at the House of Goichot. Soft, easy drinking red in the classic style wich to us is red and blackberry fruit with a dusting of spice and chocolate notes. Perfect to drink on its own due to the soft warm style but a lovely match for anything from home made burgers to cold meat platters and classic roasts.
