The Gordon's distillery was established in 1769 by Alexander Gordon as he set out on a mission to produce a gloriously tasting gin worthy of carrying his family name. Gordon believed that success lay in the elegant combination of pure distilled grain spirit and rich botanicals. To this day Gordon's is distilled to this same exacting standard and the product is triple-distilled to guarantee the purity of the gin. The exact blend of botanicals remains a closely guarded secret with a combination of handpicked wild juniper berries, coriander, angelica and liquorice. The attention to detail results in a distinctive flavour that mixes elegantly in long drinks and cocktails. To savour the ideal taste for yourself, mix a Gordon's and tonic and garnish with lime. The Beara Peninsula's Wild Atlantic shore is host to an abundance of unusual botanicals and that was how the idea of Beara Ocean Gin was born. The Atlantic Ocean botanicals we use in our gin include sea salt water and sugar kelp that balance with the freshness of juniper and zesty citrus aromas. Located on the fringe of Europe, Dingle enjoys a pristine environment like no other. Buffeted by winds from the Atlantic Ocean, the air is fresh, just like our Gin. Using our own hand beaten copper still, fondly known as Oisín, spirit vapour passes through our flavour basket to capture the unique character of nine traditional and locally grown & harvested juniper, fuschia, bog myrtle heater, chervil, hawthorn, angelica and coriander. The resulting distillate is cut with pure water drawn from our well 240 feet below our distillery. Each bottle is then hand filled and numbered by batch.
