Snowcream Milk (1 L), €1.59
Our Snowcream The Snowcream story officially began in 1952. Back then milk was collected straight into a milk churn, and transported direct to customers on a pony - now that's fresh milk for you! The milkman of the day would measure out what customers wanted at each house, and be on his way. This all changed with the introduction of pasteurisation. In 1955 Snowcream became only the second dairy in Ireland to produce a pasteurised pint of milk in a glass bottle - known locally as the 'red capped milk'. Milk was still delivered direct to peoples' homes, but now they'd be awakened to the 'clink clink' of milk bottles left on their doorstep. No need to set your alarm in those days!
