Preparation & Usage
You Will Need: 500g Odlums Chocolate Cake Mix / 200ml milk / 3 eggs 2x7" sandwich tins, lined with baking paper For the Chocolate Icing: 50g/2oz Chocolate Chips 3 tbsp water / 50g/2oz butter / 225g/8oz icing sugar Method: 1. Preheat oven to 180C/Fan 160C/350F/Gas Mark 4. 2. Add dry mix, milk and eggs to a mixing bowl. Beat with electric mixer on a low speed for 30 seconds, followed by 1 1/2 minutes on high speed to form a smooth batter. 3. Divide mixture between lined tins. Ensure batter is evenly distributed. 4. Bake on a middle shelf of oven for 20-25 minutes or until 'springy' to touch. 5. Remove cakes from oven and transfer to a wire tray to cool before decorating. 6. To make the icing, put chocolate chips and water into saucepan over a low heat. Melt, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and add butter. When melted, beat in sugar to get smooth icing. 7. When cakes are cold, sandwich with chocolate icing and cover top of cake with remaining icing. Note: As baking characteristics of ovens vary, always check your manufacturers guidelines. Serving Suggestion: Decorate by grating a bar of your favourite chocolate over the top of the iced cake.

Store in a cool, dry place. Once opened, store in an airtight container.
