Attractive aromas of cherry and plum with dark chocolate, earth and herbaceous notes, followed by a long and complex palate of black cherry with savoury nuances and smooth velvety tannins.

Torres Purgator (75 cl), €32.00

In 1770, a group of monks broke the rules of their Order and was exiled to this harsh, rugged region to carry out penance. They soon discovered that the area was perfect for winegrowing and set out to make a wine that would return them to heaven's good graces. They succeeded, or so it seemed. Every year wine inexplicable vanished from the barrels, leaving them half empty. The monks believed that this was how the angels made them pay for their sins. We have now brought back these old Mediterranean varieties to produce Purgatori, which recalls the legend of the angels' wine.
