Preparation & Usage

You Will Need: 450g Odlums Irish fruit scone mix 150-200ml of milk or water Baking tray, dusted with flour Scone cutter or plastic beaker Makes approx. 6 large or 10 mini scones. Method: 1. Preheat oven to 200°C/Fan 180°C/400°F/Gas mark 6. 2. Add dry mix to a mixing bowl. Pour in 150ml milk/water. 3. Mix with a spoon until a soft dough is formed. If too dry, gradually add up to 50ml milk/water to get a soft (not sticky) dough. 4. Turn onto a floured worktop and knead lightly, using a sprinkle of flour. Press dough to height of 25mm/1". Use cutter/beaker to cut out scones. Press trimmings together to use up dough. 5. Place scones on floured baking tray. Glaze with milk or beaten egg. Bake for 12-17 minutes until golden brown. 6. Transfer to a wire tray to cool. Note: As baking characteristics of ovens vary, always check your manufacturers guidelines. Top tip: Preheat baking tray for light, well risen scones. Serving Suggestion: Serve with your favourite jam.

Store in a cool, dry place. Once opened, store in an airtight container.
