Preparation & Usage

Gravy recipe: Add one tablespoon of cornflour to two tablespoons of meat juices, mix until smooth. Stir in 280ml of stock, bring to the boil and simmer for one minute while stirring. Season to taste. Soups, stews & casseroles: Use one tablespoon of cornflour for each 280ml of liquid used in a recipe. Blend the cornflour with a little cold water to make a thin, smooth consistency. Stir into soup, stew, or casserole. Simmer for a few minutes until cornflour is cooked and thickened. White sauce: Melt 25g butter, remove from heat, blend in 1 heaped tablespoon of cornflour. Stir in 280ml of milk. Bring to the boil and simmer for one minute while stirring. Season to taste.
