Helpful hints in the kitchen A good substitute for buttermilk If you need sour milk in a recipe, add 1/2 teaspoon of Shamrock Bread Soda to 150ml fresh milk. For cleaning Use a solution of 1 teaspoon Shamrock Bread Soda to a pint water. Leave a small open container of fresh, dry Shamrock Bread Soda in the corner of your fridge, it will absorb any strong odours from foodstuffs.
