History is spoken through the mysterious drawings, 'Petroglyphs', that cover the rocky hillsides of Viña San Esteban, inspiring this modern creation, In Situ. Our vines grow alongside these drawings to create this blend of 90% Carmenere, 5 % Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Syrah, a rich and silky wine that delivers an attractive nose with dark berries, pepper and forest scents. La Maldita Rioja Garnacha (75 cl), €15.00

Traditionally, Garnacha has been the 2nd most planted grape variety throughout Rioja. The difficulty associated with producing high-quality Garnacha in Rioja has left locals referring to the grape as La Maldita (little cursed one). Due to low yields and a lack of profitability, a majority of growers have chosen to uproot their vineyards and to re-plant them with less demanding varietals. This wine aims to celebrate that heritage, and prove outstanding Garnacha can be made in Rioja. These grapes are sourced from old-vine, high altitude vineyards planted on pure gravel soils.

Our philosophy is to craft wines that are both ageworthy and fresh. To this end we take great pains to harvest grapes at optimum ripeness, and use minimal interference in the winery, thus allowing the quality of the fruit to speak for itself. The wine is a blend of 40% Carignan which lends both crispness and freshness to the wine, 30% Syrah for structure and body, and finally 30% Grenache for its intense blackberry aromas. The palate displays deep fruit flavours with perfectly balanced acidity and soft tannins, and can be enjoyed now or cellared for up to eight years. Perfect with grilled meats, particularly chargrilled steaks.

Nugan Estate Alfredo Dried Grape Shiraz (75 cl), €13.99

This Dried Grape Shiraz is sourced from our family's premium vineyards in the Riverina and McLaren Vale. Once harvested, a parcel of this Shiraz was dried on specialized racks to create flavour intensity and concentration. After fermentation, the wine matured in American and French oak for 18 months, resulting in a hand crafted wine of quality. Attractive aromas of cherry and plum with dark chocolate, earth and herbaceous notes, followed by a long and complex palate of black cherry with savoury nuances and smooth velvety tannins.

Nugan Estate Alfredo Second Pass Shiraz (75 cl), €12.00

This Second Pass Shiraz is sourced from our family's premium vineyards in Australia. After fermentation, the wine was pressed onto the pomace and yeast less of our premium "Alfredo" Dry Grape Shiraz adding to the wines' intensity. Thereafter, the wine was matured in French and American oak for 12 months resulting in a wine of concentration and quality. Attractive aromas of rhubarb and cherry with tobacco, dark chocolate and earth are followed by long and complex palate of ripe raspberries and blueberries with dark chocolate and velvety tannins.

Pablo Old Vine Garnacha (75 cl), €8.99

Sometimes you come across something special that leaves an impact. The gnarly old bush vines that bear the precious fruit that go to make this delicious wine were planted up to 100 years ago in the mountain vineyards of Atea. Struggling to survive in dusty, dry slate soils at an altitude of 1000 metres they have the ability to produce this amazing wine: deep blue-purple colour. Lifted perfumed aromas of flowers and fresh blueberry. Lush blackberry and cherry flavours cram the mid palate with an underlying spicy pepperiness. Pata Negra Crianza Red Wine - Do Ribera Del Duero (75 cl), €12.00

From the warmest and oldest hills of our vineyards we have selected the best Tinta del País (Tempranillo) grapes to make this wine in the traditional way, based on the cultural and family knowledge acquired throughout the last 120 years. An ageing process of 12 months minimum in oak barrels has provided this wine with the roundness and balance we were looking for, hoping you can enjoy an excellent wine. Natural sediments may appear over time because of its youth and natural elaboration process.

From the warmest and oldest hills of our vineyards we have selected the best estates to harvest Tinta del País (Tempranillo) grapes at their optimal point of ripeness, which will provide this wine with complexity and balance. We have recovered our estate's historical 12th century caves, as a witness of vineyard and wine art for generations. An ageing process of 24 months in American and French oak barrels and 12 months in bottle help this wine blossom and conquer the most demanding palates. Natural sediments may appear over time because of its natural elaboration process and ageing in barrel and bottle.

Wine of great personality with a very appealing and covered cherry red color. It is intense on the nose, excelling the ripe fruit, spices and cocoa aromas from its stay in oak barrel for 36 months.
