Pork & Prawn Dumplings

Ingredients
100g SuperValu Pork Mince
200g black tiger prawns, washed, deveined and chopped into small chunks
1 1-inch piece ginger, peeled and grated
2 scallions, washed and finely sliced
½ tsp soft brown sugar
¼ tsp toasted sesame oil
½ tsp Dr. Coy's Organic Vegetable Bouillon
¼ tsp dry sherry
30 frozen dumpling wrappers
3 tbsp rice vinegar
3 tbsp SuperValu Light Soy Sauce
Directions
  1. For the dumplings: In a large bowl or food processor, add your ingredients and mix in one direction until the mixture breaks down and the minced pork and shrimp become a paste.

  2. Add one heaping teaspoon into the center of the defrosted wrapper. Brush some water on the wrapper around the filling and fold one side over the other.

  3. In a non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat, add cooking oil. Then place dumplings in, flat side down. Allow this to fry until the bottoms have turned brown and crispy, about 5 minutes. Then pour ½ cup water into the pan and cover. Lower heat and let steam until all the water evaporates and the filling is cooked, about 6-7 minutes, before serving.

  4. For the dipping sauce: Add all ingredients into a small bowl, whisk until combined and enjoy.

Dipping Sauce:

  • 3 tbsp SuperValu Light Soy Sauce
  • 3 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 3 tbsp sesame oil

Sustainable Tip: As tempting as it is, do not overfill the dumplings. You’ll only regret it! You can also freeze these and cook at a later date.
