Clean in nose, dominated by concentrated fruit well integrated. Once in mouth it is warm and rounded with an intense cherry colour. Nice expression and great persistence that reminds you a lively wine.
Marques de Caceres Crianza Rioja (75 cl), €10.00
Marqués de Cáceres Crianza is made from Tempranillo grapes selected by hand. Vinified with care and aged in French and American oak barrels for 12 months. Further aging in bottle for several months highlights its red berry fruit, structure and complexity. Silky-smooth and elegant in the mouth.
La Maldita Rioja Garnacha (75 cl), €10.00
Traditionally, Garnacha has been the 2nd most planted grape variety throughout Rioja. The difficulty associated with producing high-quality Garnacha in Rioja has left locals referring to the grape as La Maldita (little cursed one). Due to low yields and a lack of profitability, a majority of growers have chosen to uproot their vineyards and to re-plant them with less demanding varietals. This wine aims to celebrate that heritage, and prove outstanding Garnacha can be made in Rioja. These grapes are sourced from old-vine, high altitude vineyards planted on pure gravel soils.

From the warmest and oldest hills of our vineyards we have selected the best estates to harvest Tinta del País (Tempranillo) grapes at their optimal point of ripeness, which will provide this wine with complexity and balance. We have recovered our estate's historical 12th century caves, as a witness of vineyard and wine art for generations. An ageing process of 24 months in American and French oak barrels and 12 months in bottle help this wine blossom and conquer the most demanding palates. Natural sediments may appear over time because of its natural elaboration process and ageing in barrel and bottle.

Our philosophy is to craft wines that are both ageworthy and fresh. To this end we take great pains to harvest grapes at optimum ripeness, and use minimal interference in the winery, thus allowing the quality of the fruit to speak for itself. The wine is a blend of 40% Carignan which lends both crispness and freshness to the wine, 30% Syrah for structure and body, and finally 30% Grenache for its intense blackberry aromas. The palate displays deep fruit flavours with perfectly balanced acidity and soft tannins, and can be enjoyed now or cellared for up to eight years. Perfect with grilled meats, particularly chargrilled steaks.

The gnarly old bush vines that bear the precious fruit that go to make this delicious wine were planted up to 100 years ago in the mountain vineyards of Atea. Struggling to survive in dusty, dry slate soils at an altitude of 1000 metres they have the ability to produce this amazing wine: deep blue-purple colour.
