Our water, drawn from the River Bush, flows over beds of basalt rock, the same rock that lends its unique character to another famous local attraction - the Giant's Causeway. Bushmills is more than just a whiskey. It's a village, where family, friends and neighbours work side by side at the distillery. As we often say, "without the village, there would be no whiskey and without the whiskey, there would be no village".

The man on our bottle, St Kevin, stood apart, and this whiskey does the same. A quintessentially Irish style of whiskey, pot still, it is first matured in an American oak, ex-bourbon cask. It is then further matured in an Irish oak cask made from trees felled in the Wicklow Mountains. While the bourbon cask softens and sweetens the whiskey, the higher levels of flavour in the Irish oak cask complements and balances the classic pot still spices.

This Irish Whiskey is matured in carefully hand selected oak casks for almost two decades. It is then given a final marrying period of at least 6 months in a fresh American oak barrel to impart further unique complexity and elegance. This whiskey spirit is wonderfully mellow and smooth, with complex flavours swirling on the palate of toffee, spice, subtle hints of wood and leather.
