They have during the last 20 years, consolidating the château's reputation for producing the appellation's foremost wines. Château Manon Des Brumes red goes perfectly with roast, beef and light cheeses Wine makers comments: Brilliant and attractive colour, ripe black fruit nose of blackcurrant hints. Prince Larquey was the Black Prince's riding companion during the Hundred Years' War and was rewarded with this castle. The property has 25 hectares of vineyard on clay-limestone soil. This red wine reveals notes of juicy black fruits, a supple palate, a subtly woody finish.

60% Merlot - 40% Cabernet Sauvignon This exceptional ''terroir cuvée'' is produced from a selection of the oldest vineyards. All the grapes are hand picked and sorted. After a total de-stemming, the long maceration during the vinification is performed under careful temperature control to bring out the best parts of the tannins potential. The wine has been aged in new French casks for 12 months long in the underground cellars of the Château. Winemakers comments: Deep colour, aromas of blackberries and hints of spice. The ageing has given elegance to its rich and tannic structure. Fine and soft with smooth, well integrated tannins on the palate, this full bodied wine deserves its place alongside any Bordeaux Grand Cru.

Chateau Tour Baladoz St Emillion Grand Cru (75 cl), €45.00

The vineyard of Château Tour Baladoz is located on a clay-chalk soil, at one of the highest places of the appellation. The Merlot grapes is the main grape variety that has been used with Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon giving further depth to the wine. The grapes are harvested when they are at their ripest and they are aged with care. This wine is fleshy and pronounced on the nose and is supported by nice structured tannins.

Owned by Dourthe since 1990, château pey la tour is located on a magnificent terroir, enhanced by exemplary levels of vineyard management setting the standard within the Bordeaux appellation. Stunning garnet in colour, on the nose the wine is defined by red fruit notes. Soft and remarkably well-balanced, this wine reveals attractive lingering aromatics on the finish.
