Zara Strawberry Daiquiri
Prep Time30 Minutes
Servings2
0Ingredients
400g Signature Tastes Zara strawberries & 2 strawberries to garnish
200g ice
120ml rum
juice 1/2 lime & 2 slices of limes to garnish
1-2 tbsp sugar syrup, optional (See recipe to make your own)
1 few mint leaves
Directions
Ingredients
- 400g Signature Tastes Zara strawberries, hulled and roughly chopped
- 200g ice
- 120ml rum
- juice 1/2 lime
- 1-2 tbsp sugar syrup, optional
To Garnish
- 2 slices of limes
- 2 strawberries, cut in half down the middle, leaving the root intact
- 1 few mint leaves
Method
- Blend the strawberries in a high speed blender then add to a sieve and strain into a bowl to remove some of the seeds - you can skip this step if you want but it does make for a nicer drink!
- Tip the sieved puree back into the blender and add the ice, rum, and lime juice. Blender until combined - you will be left with a slushie textured drink then taste and, if not sweet enough add sugar syrup depending on how sweet you like your drinks and blend again. If your strawberries are super sweet you may not need to add any sugar syrup at all. Once well mixed, divide the Daiquiri between 2 glasses.
- Garnish with the lime slices, strawberries and mint leaves and serve immediately.
Tip:
For a quick and easy simple syrup, combine equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan, bring to a boil, and stir until the sugar dissolves. Let it cool before using, and store in the fridge for up to two weeks.
