"Years ago, when I was just starting out as a winemaker, it was almost unheard of to get French oak wine barrels and American oak barrels were for whiskey, not wine. But we still needed barrels to age our wine, so we purchased new and used bourbon barrels. Today, American and French oak wine barrels are commonplace, so the inspiration for 1000 Stories is a nod to the way things were. We've selected new and used bourbon barrels for these small batches of Zinfandel, which impart characteristics specific to these barrels: charred vanilla, dried herbs and a hint of caramel." A liquid ode to our past, 19 Crimes is inspired by those who, beginning in 1788, were transported to Australia for a life of hard labour. Many did not survive the journey. For the sea-beaten people who made it ashore, a new world awaited. As pioneers in a harsh frontier colony, they forged fresh pathways and built new lives from their chequered pasts, brick by brick. This wine honours the history they wrote and the culture they built.

Aconcagua Valley Alterra wines harness the intensity and flavours of Andes Mountain grapes, producing distinctive wines with varietal characteristics and superb ripeness. This wine was oak-fermented and then barrel-aged for only 3 months. Mixing notes of pear and pineapple with toasted hazelnut, it has a rich texture and a long finish marked by vanilla and mineral notes. Natural spring water from the magnificent Andes Mountains flows through the valley to our vineyard, where "Altitude" and "Terroir" combine to create Alterra sun-filled wines.

Andre Goichot Saint Bris Maison (75 cl), €10.00

In northern Burgundy, near Auxerre, there is a vineyard of around 100 ha planted with Sauvignon grapes. Saint-Bris is the only appellation in Burgundy with this grape variety, which produces an aromatic wine with notes of grapefruit and citrus, and flinty notes on the palate. A perfect match for fish and shellfish, as well as fresh cheeses.

This Sauvignon Blanc has a straw yellow colour; it presents aromas of ripened citric fruit and herbs. In the mouth its body and freshness stand out. Although it is a dry wine, it gives a sweet feeling in mouth. Ideal temperature: 9 - 13°C

Aresti Mystique Mystery One Reserva Red Blend (75 cl), €10.00

Vinification The grapes in this Red Blend were carefully harvested and vinified. Fermentation took place under controlled temperature conditions between 25 and 27°C to preserve the freshness, smoothness and intensity of aromas. Following fermentation, 50% of the blend was aged in third fill or older French and American oak barrels for six months and the remainder was aged in stainless steel vats to preserve its fruity aromas.

Aresti Mystique Mystery Two Reserva Carignan (75 cl), €10.00

Vinification The grapes were harvested in late March, crushed, and fermented at 26°C for 7 days, with a total of 12 days of skin contact. Afterward, the grapes were pressed. Malolactic fermentation took place in French and American oak barrels, where they continue to evolve and gain complexity during a 12-month aging period. Tasting Notes Intensely ruby red Carignan, offering complex notes of black fruits, earthy nuances, and delicate floral hints. Full-bodied with firm tannins, it boasts a long, persistent finish with echoes of chocolate and coffee.
