Sometimes you come across something special that leaves an impact. The gnarly old bush vines that bear the precious fruit that go to make this delicious wine were planted up to 100 years ago in the mountain vineyards of Atea. Struggling to survive in dusty, dry slate soils at an altitude of 1000 metres they have the ability to produce this amazing wine: deep blue-purple colour. Lifted perfumed aromas of flowers and fresh blueberry. Lush blackberry and cherry flavours cram the mid palate with an underlying spicy pepperiness. Weighty without being overbearing it delivers a punch of juiciness that will leave your palate stunned!

Winemakers for generations, Family Sorges acquired Château Haut Médou in 1957. They started with only 6 hectares of vineyards and extended to more than 200 hectares in Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur appellations. Château Haut Médou has a deep red colour, with a rich nose of black fruits aromas. On the palate this wine has a well-balanced evolution with velvety mature tannins.

Owned by Dourthe since 1990, château pey la tour is located on a magnificent terroir, enhanced by exemplary levels of vineyard management setting the standard within the Bordeaux appellation. Stunning garnet in colour, on the nose the wine is defined by red fruit notes. Soft and remarkably well-balanced, this wine reveals attractive lingering aromatics on the finish.

Nugan Estate Stomper's Cabernet Sauvignon (75 cl), €12.99

Our cabernet vineyard requires more work than the shiraz and it's become a favorite for the birds as the bunches ripen. Stomper has his hands full indeed. We work hard to stress the soils and slow down the ripening of the cab because it helps achieve the flavors we like so much. Daren Owers, our winemaker, reckons our cabernet is the best in the region and praises Stomper for the work he does in the vineyard. Our fruit is destemmed and pressed before going through a lengthy cold soaking. After fermentation, we macerate on the skins for about 10 days to extract soft tannins and deep, rich flavors. There's never any short cuts on the barrel program and this wine sees only French oak, of which 25% is new. Since there are several different parcels on the vineyard and they're kept separate throughout the entire process, putting the final blend together takes several days and is a major team effort. Were really proud of this and hope you like it. PS - this wine was sustainably farmed and produced in an effort to reduce our carbon footprint.

Marqués de Cáceres Crianza is made from Tempranillo grapes selected by hand. Vinified with care and aged in French and American oak barrels for 12 months. Further aging in bottle for several months highlights its red berry fruit, structure and complexity. Silky-smooth and elegant in the mouth.

A splendid combination of aromas reminiscent of coffee, tobacco, fruit compote with nicely integrated oak flavours. Complex and well-structured on the palate, with a long finish.

This wine has a deep black-cherry colour and an intense bouquet with scents of vanilla, fresh toast and coffee, entwined with notes of red berry fruit and dry plums. Insigne is our line created to highlight Chile's most valuable assets: the beauty of its valleys and the richness of its fruits. The grapes that give origin to Insigne grow at nature's rhythm and fully mature, expressing vivacity harmony and purity, making each variety unique. Bright ruby colour with intense aromas of red and black fruits. Cherries, blackberries and plums are present with a slight touch of spices and a lingering fruit finish.

Nugan Estate Scruffy's Shiraz (75 cl), €12.99

Scruffy works hard to keep our Shiraz bunches tight and our berries small and yields very low at around 4 tons per acre, which annoys our accountant. Daren Owers, our winemaker, insists on bunch sorting at harvest to make sure we only use the very best clusters. Most of the fruit is destemmed and pressed while a small portion is whole berry fermented. All parcels are kept separate during the winemaking process in our state of the art winery. We use a lot of smaller tanks as a result which is difficult, but necessary for the production of a quality wine. Pump overs and extended maceration times give us color and richness. We work with the best coopers and use a combination of French and American oak to mature this wine - 25% of which is new. Bench blending takes forever - there are so many variables and we return the final cuvee to tank for several months to come together before bottling. It's a lot of work and we really hope you enjoy the result. PS - This wine was sustainably farmed and produced in an effort to reduce our carbon footprint.
